2024 is starting with a bang for Oaks basketball academy. We have expanded our age groups and now offer sessions for 3 – 7 year olds!
Every Sunday, 10.00 – 11.00 am 3 – 5 year olds; 11.00 – 12.00pm 5 – 7 year olds. Beaufort Community Centre BH6 5LB.

START OF 2024
20 January 2024
2024 started with 2 wins in a row against Storm and Razors. Coming fresh from NY break we worked on our basketball and while we let a big lead go against Storm while experimenting, the game against Razors was a different story. Oaks never looked back, ran the court for full 40 minutes and grabbed a commanding victory.
Next two games are crucial to define the season – Salisbury Suns and Bears both away. But Oaks are ready.

Bears VS Oaks
November 27th, 2023
The mighty Bournemouth Bears Basketball Club just went out and got the W last night in the Dorset Basketball Association
Great effort by the BC Bournemouth Oaks boys but Bears were unstoppable from the beginning. Oaks came close on half time mark but terrible 3rd quarter gave us the L.
Tomas Skiotys led the scorers with 19 pts, Adomas Stakvilevicius added 16 pts and Domas Bilvinas got 9 pts on his long awaited return.

It was not pretty but win is a win! 🌳🏀
Not the most exciting game for the fans, however the physicality and hustle was admirable from both teams! Razors Bournemouth Bears Basketball Club never gave up, was always breathing up close but BC Bournemouth Oaks looked comfy to the end although a little bit sketchy at moments 🥶.

Oaks vs Storm

Emphatic win by Oaks!
Wednesday night saw BC Bournemouth Oaks crushing opposition from Dorset Storm Basketball Club by quite a margin.
Everything went well and our own Adam Stakvilevicius scored more than the whole opposition team. Good news to see our game improve and BC Bournemouth Oaks are now 3 -1 in the Dorset Basketball Association season!

Oaks vs Suns
November 1st, 2023
Another W last night in a really interesting game! 83:79 score is a good reflection of the actual game.
BC Bournemouth Oaks controlled the game for three quarters and had +17 going into the fourth. But Salisbury Suns Basketball Club never gave up, brought up more physicality and got close to 3 points. However, cool heads prevailed and we never looked like letting the W go. Our own Spanish matador Jimy Floyd earned the MVP with a dominating PG performance.
First W of the season!

Our first major away trip was marked with the first W of the season! Despite the jetlag Oaks dominated the first half of the game. In the 3rd we let our guard down and were punished 13:4 by an impressive Bandits run. However, we composed ourselves, went back into rhythm and put the game to rest early in the 4th.
Vilius Giedrikas took MVP crown with 12 PTS; Jimy Floyd added 16 PTS and 100% FT’s; Justas Bukelskis top scorer with 19 PTS.

The mighty Bears dished us our first loss of the season. It was a great game, we went up by 12 in the first but then stopped and let them go ahead. We caught twice but were just a little bit short of going over the line. We will come stronger next time out!

Hard working individuals at Dorset Basketball Association have released the season fixtures. We got all the home game dates, but we tip off our season @ the mighty Bournemouth Bears arena on the 2nd October as a first official game of the 2023 – 2024 season!
Wheelchair Basketball Friendly!

Oaks have decided to try themselves in a different setting and experience something profound. We joined our friends Dorset Demons wheelchair basketball club for a friendly on Saturday 5th August 2023. It’s only fair to say that Demons drove through us like a bulldozer 46 – 25. We were quite surprised however of how decent we were. Altogether it was a really fun afternoon and it was awesome to experience something very different. Thank You to our friends Dorset Demons!
Oaks and DBA @ Euroleague top 4
May 19th – May 21st 2023.
A joint effort by DBA, Oaks, Bournemouth Bears and Kaunas Amateur Basketball Association saw a first ever 4 team tournament organized in Kaunas, Lithuania during Euroleague Top 4 on 19 -21 May!
Team Dorset were the only visiting team and had to accept two losses against some really good local opposition. Nevermind the losses the trip was finished with a Europe’s most decorated game and guaranteed fantastic experiences!
Oaks had 5 members of our roster in team Dorset combined with 4 Bears. Our players brought back priceless experience against some really good players.
End Of 2022 – 2023 season
June 2023
A fantastic end of the season for Dorset baskebtall saw a newly formed Titans winning the league in eliminating Bears and Salisbury Suns in playoffs.
After finishing the league in 2nd place behind Bears, Oaks had to concede to Suns in the semi final in dramatic fashion and lost by a single point. We ended up 3rd – 4th with Bears. A disappointing end of season as we still chase that title however we snatched individual awards – scorers title went to our own Adam with 30.5pts average a game while Tomas Skiotys became Dorset season MVP with that memorable 65pts game!
On to the next season!
