At BC Oaks Academy, we believe in supporting causes that make a real difference in childrenβs lives.
Recently, we were honored to take part in a Charity Family Day at Horns Inn, raising funds for a sensory room for children at Bournemouth Royal Hospital. Thanks to the incredible support of families and the local community, the event raised over Β£6,300!
Following this success, we made a donation from the Academy to the UHD Charity, providing sensory toys, diamond painting keychains, stacking toys, UNO cards, painting trays, and stickers. We are deeply grateful to all our parents and members whose donations helped make this possible. Together, we are helping create a brighter and more comfortable environment for children in hospital.
π If you would like to continue supporting, you can contribute through their Amazon Wishlist.
We also came across the inspiring work of Sophieβs Legacy, which provides snack boxes for families in hospitals and raises awareness about childhood cancer. We were proud to make a donation of porridge pots, Tassimo coffee pods, chocolate bars, bottles of squash, cereal bars, pot noodles, and crisps to support their amazing cause.
π This is their websiteΒ if you would like to donate as well.
At BC Oaks Academy, we are committed to giving back and doing what we can to bring comfort and joy to children and families during challenging times. Together, letβs continue to make a difference.
This summer our scholarship program gave players an unforgettable opportunity: a week at Team 97 Camp in Nida, Lithuania.
For many of our boys, it was their first international basketball experience,Β training with some of the most experienced coaches in Europe, alongside athletes from different countries. The camp was more than just basketball: it was about discipline, healthy habits, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Getting there was a team effort. Throughout the year, funds were raised through game-day shop sales, apparel, and raffles. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us, you made this trip possible.
By the end of the week, players and coaches came home with not only new skills, but also memories and lessons that will carry into next season.
Weβre already looking forward to next yearβs camp,Β and taking even more players with us.
Letβs go Oaks! ππ³

This summer we had the pleasure of taking basketball out into the community with two fantastic events,Β giving more young people the chance to discover the game we love.
New Forest Family Fun Day β New Milton RFC
We joined the Family Fun Day at New Milton RFC, where local kids got a free taste of basketball. The court was packed all afternoon with smiles, energy, and plenty of first-time players taking their shot. Nothing beats seeing new faces light up when they discover the game! ππ
Make it Bournemouth
A brilliant weekend at Make it Bournemouth, full of activities, energy, and excitement. Our highlight? A quick coaches vs. players 3v3 game that got the crowd cheering and showed off the fun, competitive spirit of the sport. πͺπ
It was the perfect way to kick off the new season and show why BC Oaks Academy is Dorsetβs premier basketball destination.
What a weekend! Our club wrapped up the Dorset Basketball Association season in style β with both our Menβs and U12 teams bringing home Playoff Champion titles π
The Menβs team faced off against our long-time rivals and friends from Bournemouth Bears Razors in a dramatic Premier Final. After trailing by double digits, the guys pulled off an electric second-half comeback to take the win, with Tomas Skiotys dropping 27 points and earning the MVP title ππͺ Massive respect to the Razors for a tough, physical battle!
But it was our U12 squad who put the cherry on top ππ
In their final against the formidable Jurassic Coast Raptors, it was all square at halftime. But our young Oaks came out in the third ready to execute, stepping up with mature defence, smart spacing, and big-time shooting. One of our players put up an incredible 37 points π³ β but this was a team win all the way.
Weβre incredibly proud to finish the year with silverware in both senior and junior brackets β especially in our U12 teamβs first season together πΎπ³
Thank you to Dorset Basketball Association for a brilliant season and to all the coaches, parents, players and supporters whoβve made this journey special. And shout out to MC Jordan for bringing the energy to the Menβs Finals! ποΈ
